Dr. David Kwiat

DR. DAVID KWIAT

Dr. Kwiat and his staff strive to provide the absolute best medical care in the Capital District in a friendly, timely and caring manner, with integrity and excellence. Patient comfort is of utmost importance to this team of dedicated professionals.

Along with his specially trained and certified ophthalmic assistants, Dr. Kwiat performs eye surgery (including cataracts, advanced lenses, and plastic surgery for eyes) in his own state-of-the-art eye surgery center, the Mohawk Valley Eye Surgery Center, located next door to his medical office.

Dr. Kwiat obtained his medical degree with honors from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He continued on to complete his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri.

Dr. Rafael Medina

DR. RAFAEL MEDINA

Rafael Medina, MD is a board certified comprehensive eye physician and surgeon. Dr. Medina holds bachelors and masters degrees in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Public Health and Medicine.

Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Medina worked as a mechanical designer and structural engineer for multiple Massachusetts based high technology companies.

Dr. Medina's professional interests include comprehensive medical ophthalmology, cataract surgery, medical and surgical glaucoma, oculoplastic surgery and medical retina.

Dr. James T. Murphy III

DR. JAMES T. MURPHY III

Dr. James T. Murphy III, is a board-certified fellowship-trained refractive cataract and glaucoma specialist, with a particular interest in advanced technology lens implants, laser-assisted cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries.

Dr. Murphy received his undergraduate degree from The University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with honors from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his internship and residency training at The State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Murphy subsequently completed his fellowship training at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute of the Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Medical Center.

Dr. Michael Hollins

DR. MICHAEL HOLLINS

Dr. Michael Hollins joins our practice by way of Kansas City, Missouri. He boasts a distinguished career as the former President of the Kansas City Optometric Society and the trusted team eye doctor for the KC Current women's professional soccer team.

Dr. Hollins is welcoming new patients, offering his expertise and commitment to enhancing the vision of our patients. He is most passionate about treating eye conditions including dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, macular Degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and systemic conditions.

Dr. Hollins accepts same day appointments and is looking forward to seeing you!

Dr. Heather Monge

DR. HEATHER MONGE

Dr. Heather Monge is a New York State licensed optometrist and a native to Amsterdam, NY. She earned her bachelor degree in Biology from SUNY College at Plattsburgh before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at MCPHS University School of Optometry in Worcester, MA.

Dr. Monge completed extensive training during her residency at the White River Junction VA Medical Center in Vermont where she specialized in the management and co-management of complex ocular diseases including glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Dr. Monge is currently a Fellow in the American Academy. She joined our practice in the summer of 2018.

Dr. Kelly Siahpoosha

DR. KELLY SIAHPOOSHA

After graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a bachelor's degree in biology, Dr. Kelly Siahpoosha completed her clinical studies at Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she earned her doctorate degree.

She completed rotations in pediatrics, ocular disease, and primary care with clinical honors.

Kelly is currently active in the American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association. She joined our practice in the summer of 2015.
